Did you mean:

Lookout: Error IM002/0 Data source name not found and no default driver specified.

My project reads information from a CSV file.

At the office where I work at, I get no errors. I built and installed all of the software on that particular computer, including Windows XP.

At home, I have the same setup, yet I cannot get my Lookout program to work. I am using the same LKS file(s) e-mailed to myself, from work.

I keep getting the error IM002 (attached below is a JPEG picture of the error report).

I have tried the following:
- Re-install Lookout
- Configure ODBC for User DNS
- Configure ODBC for System DNS
- Configure ODBC for User and System DNS
- Checked to see if the Database is "read only"
- Downloaded a "Safe Database" from NI.com (not corrupted)

- Checked the correct path for the Database
- Checked the correct path for the CSV file
- Started and restarted Lookout services
- Rebooted the computer between each attempts mentioned above
- Verified that Microsoft TEXT DRIVER (*.txt, *.csv) is installed
- Searched NI.com Knowledge Base and tried all recommendations that I could possibly find.
- made sure other programs were not running, using ODBC
- There are a few other things I did too, but can't remember while typing this list.

I am glad I came across the problem now, at home. I wouldn't want the customer watch me fumble for hours with their computer, trying to figure out why I can't get the software to work on their system.

It only took a few minutes for me to make the ODBC configuration work correctly at the office, and everything was fine. At home, it took hours of troubleshooting, and still no success.

Hi,

Could you please let me know;
- Which version of Lookout you are using? (which build?)
- What is the citadel version on both computer? You can determine the version by checking the version of "lkcitdl.exe" under C:\winnt\system32
- Are you using windows XP on both PCs?

Please follow the steps in the Tutorial below to check the citadel ODBC driver.

I have Lookout 5.1 on both PCs and the same exact version of XP on both PCs.

I went to follow the tutorial as suggest, and it refers to Excel. I do not have Excel installed on my computer at home, but Excel is installed at the office where the Lookout program does work.

I have a feeling that my project will work at home, if I install a copy of "Microsoft Office 2000". If it does work, them the customer that uses the Lookout software will have to have Excel installed also.
