Lookout doesn't poll FieldPoint on startup

When I start up a Lookout process that uses the FieldPoint OPC driver all
of the digital input signals and signals from our FP-QUAD-510 module have a
red X through them indicating a communication error. I've found that uplugging
and plugging the communication line back in restores the communication with
these channels. Also, by assigning a pushbutton to the polling data member of the
FieldPoint OPC driver object and pressing the button restores communication. It
seems that Lookout is not performing an initial poll of the FieldPoint devices.

The FieldPoint Communication modules include four FP1001 RS-485 serial modules
and a single FP1010 Ethernet module. I've checked communication with each
module using MAX Explorer which reports no problems. I've verified that the
serial communication lines make good contact and have termination resistors
at each end of the network. The communcation cables are also in good condition.

Any suggestions?

Hello MDN,

I had the hardware for another issue and tried out what you were saying and everytime I opened Lookout the FP-QUAD-510 came up communicating without any issues. Of course the easy solution is to have a switch which goes to true on startup and that way you can poll the Fieldpoint OPC manually.

What version of Lookout do you have?
