I have lookout 5.1 and i comunicate with 2 plc AB micrologix with an OPC serveur(rslinx)... If one of my PLC is not communicating and i try to restart lookout, it would not restart... Lookout stay at loading page "Loading c:\program files\national instruments\lookout 5.1\project.l4p" on startup and wating for communication with the missing PLC, if i connect it back it take few second and lookout restart.
Is it possible to disable the driver temporarily in RSLinx? You can try to disable it or set it to simulation mode when the PLC is disconnected, and see if lookout can load without problem.
There is no way to stop rslinx because its lookout who start it, even if we go to administrative tool/service and put rslinx in disable mode lookout start rslinx anyway...We try a lot of thing and the only way to restart lookout is to reconnect the PLC or deleting the configuration in RsLinx...
