Hello,
Duplicating a database on another machine will require a few additional steps beyond just copying the files, as the database needs to be properly registered with the system. Depending on how you're planning on copying the data, there are two methods:
- Across a network: Archive the database to another computer.
- Open Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX)
- Right-Click on the database under Historical Data Viewer
- Select Archive...
- In the subsequent wizard you can choose databases and their archived location to any networked computer.
- Using a storage device: If you are not going to a network computer
- In MAX, right-click the database and select "Detach/Delete..."
- Detach the database.
- Copy the whole database directory (located by default in Program Files>>National Instruments>>Lookout 6.0>>Database)
- On the new computer, go to MAX Historical Viewer
- Right-click on "My Computer,"
- Select "Create/Attach Database..."
- Browse and select from the data folder copied from the original comptuer.
Let me know if you run into any troubles!
Cheers,
Matt Pollock
