I am developing a limited-interactive display of several trend and status displays using Lookout 6.2 for use in an industrial process area. The screens or panels are displayed on a timed basis using the sequencer object. A viewer of the display can stop a screen(panel) for viewing by pushing a mechanical pushbutton located within reach of the display. The pushbutton sets a bit in the PLC connected to Lookout to facilitate the display hold for viewing feature.
Since several of the screens(panels) are almost indentical except for data, I am concerned about display damages over the long term. I have tried using a Windows screen saver, however, I cannot figure a way to turn it off. Since the viewers have no access to a mouse or keyboard, deactivating the saver via conventional means is not an option.
My goal is to some way use Lookout via a bit set in PLC to turn off the screen saver similiar to the clicking of a mouse or key stroke would normally be used.
Does anyone have an idea(s) how I might accomplish this seemingly simple task?
