SMS Protocol in the ASCII object

Does anybody know how to Exactly implement the SMS protocol in the ASCII object ?
Can anybody send me a proven working example ?
To the NI Engineers at R&D - When will we have the SMS protocol added to Lookout ?
Please reply to RJN723@AOL.COM

An early reply would be very much appreciated

Thanks

Doesn't this completely depend on the SMS device? I would expect this device to have documentation on how the data should be formatted, and then its just a case of structuring the ASCII data inside Lookout appropriately.

I know that the TAP 1.8  protocol is implemented in the Pager object. We have an application that sends alarms to an alphanumeric pager and to a cell-phone which is SMS enabled. We do the aforementioned communication using a dial-up modem. It appears that SMS protocol was taken from TAP 1.8 protocol.

You may try U.C.ME-OPC which is an OPC client. It connects to Lookout's OPC server and will let you do the following:

1. Send alarm and event SMS messages to any cellphone using a cellular modem.

2. Acknowledge alarms via SMS.

3. Query or change Lookout tags remotely via SMS commands.

A fully functional evaluation version can be downloaded at: www.controlsee.com.
