STS error 10, illegal command or format

I have both Lookout 5.0 and 5.1 on my machine. In Lookout 5.0, the AB SLC500 driver had an ethernet option, there were problems encountered when talking to a PLC network and therefore this option no longer exists in Lookout 5.1. Well, the driver worked fine for me since I was only talking to a single PLC so I used it. Since then, I have installed 5.1. Now I have a similar project and want to use 5.0 and the AB SLC500 driver so I can use ethernet, however, this driver no longer works on my machine. Did installing 5.1 on my machine overwrite something associated with 5.0 that no longer allows this to work? I have also tried the AB PLC5 driver both in 5.0 and 5.1 with the same results. The alarm window shows "STS error 10, illegal command
or format"

Hi,

It looks like in 5.1 they have removed the Ethernet option. But if you copy a SLC500 driver object from an older version it works fine.

I dont know what issues NI found to cause them to remove it. We have used it to talk to approx 30 SLC505 PLCs for years with no problems.

regards,

John

I can't get the driver to work at all. Like I said, I have Lookout 5.0 and 5.1 on my development PC. I have used this driver successfully before, but it just won't work now. If I create a brand new process and assign a single alias, it works fine. As soon as I assign a second alias the red-Xs of death rear their head. I am getting the same results in both 5.0 and 5.1, with both the SLC500 driver and the PLC5 driver.
