We run Lookout 6.0.1 under Windows XP and use Modbus serial polling. We poll about 10 sites. Links are via microwave/channel banks.
I notice that if I have a microwave crash that interrupts the serial path (and probably puts a bust of garbage on the serial port back to the computer running Lookout), the Lookout usually crashes.
Most crashes give a Windows error indication a problem with Modbus application.
Is this a known issue? I see that a newer version of Lookout is out there. Any fixes in the Modbus driver that might address this issue?
Thanks, Alan

I had a lot of similar problems with the same version you are using.. 6.0.1. As soon as I upgraded to the latest version.. 6.0.2 or 6.1 I believe.. Most of my problems went away.
The other thing Lookout will do, is try that site that it has lost communications with, until either it times out after the retries, or the serial comes back. It seems to hang while it is waiting for the down site to return. I haven't found a way around that yet.
