Starting Lookout before windows log on.

Is there a way to have Lookout start before the Windows Log on? Example: The PC crashes at night and reboots it's self. With out someone to log on to windows, Lookout doesn't start. Any ideas? Thanks< Mark.

Hi Mark,

I don't think we can run any application before logging on to the system. So, one solution would be to setup an automatic logon. If this is a viable option for you, you can search the Net for how to setup your machine to automatically logon a pre-determined user. For Win9x systems there's a TweakUI utility from Microsoft and for NT there are registry entries that you must set.

Hope this helps,

Khalid 🙂

Mark,

you might configure Lookout to run as an NT Service. This should run the given startup process even before you logged in into windows.

Lookout 5.0 and greater does support this feature.

Hope this helps

I'm running 4.5.1. Any chance this can still be done?

Thanks, Mark

Nop, unless you would go with Khalid's workaround. And you can put lookout.exe into your windows startup folder and configre a startup process in lookout.

Or, you visite www.ni.com/upgrade

Found a program that will start most programs as a service (even .BAT files). I'm running it on Lookout 4.5.1 and it works well.
