Why does a symbolic- or direct-link in LOOKOUT between a client-application (Win 2000, web or process) and the server (Win2003 member-server) don�t work correctly. Don´t work means: I can see the channel in the object-explorer over the network and I can put them to the panel but the value in the client-application is only null. The same effect I get with a connection in a data-table.
The same links between two Win2000 or -XP-pc´s are working.
We checked:
- the user-rights for files �> o.k.
- the network-connectivity in the LOOKOUT-object-explorer -> o.k.
(We can´t use NDDE there.)

The current version of Lookout is not released for the use on Win2003 server systems so there might be some issues on this platform that can't be resolved.

Please check if a firewall is running on the server. Lookout and the LOGOS services underneath needs some ports between 1024 and 65536 so your firewall needs to be configured accordingly. Please refer to the following document in the NI knowledge base for more information:
