Hello, I have just inhetited 3 SCADA Systems that are using Lookout HMIs and are getting old. I have the Lookout Disks to reinstall if I one fails. However, I need to know what Lookout Files I need to backup so I have the HMI Graphics, Database, Panels etc saved for recovery purposes. I would like to be able to reinstall Lookout and then copy these file over and it should just work. Is there an easy way of backing it up such as one directory?
Thanks.

1. All process files. Each process has four files, .lks .l4p l4t and lka
2. database files. Usually we archive the database to backup database periodically instead of copying the files. The archiving can be done in MAX or programmatically in Lookout. Of course you can copy the database folder to backup it.
3. Graphics. If you have any customized graphics files in Lookout\Graphics folder, backup them. Or just backup the whole folder.
4. .ini file in Lookout folder.
5. Any related Excel files or .csv files used by lookout object.
6. anything else?

Thanks for the help. Would it be safe to say that if I had the time and capacity on a Jump Drive or External Hard Drive that I could just back up the C:\PROGRAM FILES\LOOKOUT Folder and that would insure that I would get everything needed to recover from a failure? I would reinstall Lookout first but I should have everything else to recover the original HMI. I'm just afraid that if I pick and choose, I might miss a file that I would need to restore.
Thanks.

I have copied the C:\Lookout folder out of the existing app and pasted it into a new Lookout install, but I get errors and cannot run Lookout.
Lookout.exe - Ordinal Not Found
The Ordinal 36 could not be located in the dynamic Link Library TDB32.dll
This is one error.

This is another
C:\Lookout\lookout.exe
A device attached to the system is not functioning.
And one more..
Error Starting Program
The LKWORKS.DLL is linked to missing export TDB32:36.

Sorry for my confusing words.
I didn't mean that you could copy the whole lookout folder and paste it to the new location.
In my first post in this thread, there is almost everything related to your process. You can backup them all.
But if you don't want to miss anything, and if all the files are in the Lookout folder, you can just backup the whole lookout folder.
The default files in lookout folder (exe file, dll file, cbx file, etc)should be installed by CD. And then you need copy the files I mentioned in my first post from the backup folder to your new install folder, but not the whole folder.

Oh I see! I will give that a shot. Thank you very much!

In Lookout 6.1 what files do I backup and copy to restore on a new system in the event of a crash?
