When updating lookout, how do you get the old trending information to display.

Updated lookout from 4.01b on Windows NT, to lookout 5.0 on a windows XP machine. Would like to know how to transfer the previous trending information to the new computer.

Hello,

To view the trending information on the new computer, you will need to copy the database files from the old computer.

If you only wish to view the old data, you can simply copy the files from the \..\Lookout 4.0\Database folder to the new computer and view them in the Historical Data Viewer in MAX.

If you wish to continue to log to the old database, then the process becomes a bit more involved. Before you make any changes, make a backup copy of the \..\Lookout 4.0\Database folder on the old computer just in case. On the new computer, rename the existing \..\Lookout 5.0\Database folder (to something like "Database2"). Copy the contents of the \..\Lookout 4.0\Database folder from the old machine to a new folder on the new computer called \..\Lookout 5.
0\Database. Open your process, and the old database should be updated by Lookout. You can now merge the datbases in MAX.

I hope that this helps.

Regards,

I do not wish to utilize MAX at all. Would like to just utilize the base lookout program. I did the above and it did not import any of the information from the 189 1meg files that I had previously.

IS there a way to do this without utilizing MAX
