Why doesn't Lookout 5.1 build 8 automatically logoff user if idle?

Lookout is not auto logging off a user even though the program is idle and the logoff time under User Manager is set for 15 minutes.  Doesn't matter what user is logged in or what idle time is set up, the program keeps the user logged in during no activity.  Any suggestions?

Iroot75,
This is a problem that has been reported occasionally but is not easily reproducible, therefore if we can narrow down the cause that would help.  Is there anything specific with this process that would lead you to suspect a cause? If you create a new process or use a different process, do you get the same results? What are the properties for your user and which group does he belong to?  Obviously while testing you could set the timeout down to 1 minute.

Doug M,

The problem has existed for several months and seemed to happen even with version 5.0.  We are only running one process under version 5.1.  I have tried setting a 1 minute idle logoff or a 15 minute, neither works.  User is a system operator with a security level of 9.  Under administrator login, the idle logoff works very quickly as that is set to 0 minutes.  Don't know if having version 5.0 still under program files is a problem?  Also there are times when the cursor symbol on screen has changed to a hour glass even though there is no mouse movement or input by operator.

Iroot75,
I am currently trying to replicate the issue on a test machine.  Please let me know of anything else you find out that may be useful in trying to replicate the problem. I will let you know what I find out.

I have noticed that if user is out on desktop doing work in other program the auto logoff in Lookout will work.  However, if just running Lookout and logged in, it does not autolog off if there is no user activity in Lookout.

I am experiencing a similiar problem with AutomationDirect's LookoutDirect - I assume that both packages are the same in this regard. Attached is results of testing that I have completed. Please review and reply.

I would assume that what ever solution works for Lookout here would also work for Lookout direct. You can also download an evaluation version of Lookout from ni.com to try and replicate it.

iroot75,
Is this still a problem?  If so, have you tried downloading the trial version of Lookout 6.0 to see if it is still reproducible there?  If not, you can download the trial version of Lookout 6.0.
