expression descriptors and plc acknolwedgments

I have two separate Lookout Direct questions here...

The first is about the characters following expressions, such as the ":b" in V0002:b... I'd like to know what they are called and where I can find them in the Lookout Direct manuals!  I spent about an hour looking for a list/explanation but could not find one.  I was watching a timer value in an expression and without the 😛 there the value did not match the PLC value.  I'm guessing this is some sort of typecast?

Secondly, I'm curious if there is a tutorial or suggested method on having Lookout wait for an PLC acknowledgement for a data or state change?  I used LatchGates but am not sure if it's the best way to do such a thing.

Thanks,

Dave

The characters are Data Modifiers.   They are covered in Appendix B of the LookoutDirect Getting Started manual ... which is over at AutomationDirect.com: http://web2.automationdirect.com/static/manuals/lkdm/lkdm.html#gsg.
In this case it is a BCD thing.
