log alarms to LPT Error Printer is offline or out of paper

Just updated from 3.8.16 to 6.7.1 Win7x64. Logging alarms to printer results in the error: "Error writing to LPT1, Printer is offline or out of paper". Printer is older OKI ML421 from 2007. It IS online, connected, with paper.
Lookout does successfully print alarm and event journals and snapshots to this printer. So it's not the printer, it's not really Lookout, just this functionality. I'm not spooling, wiriting directly to printer. Starting to think it's the old printer not being supported? Is there a printer model you currently support for this purpose?

When you do a test from Device & Printers, does it work?

Thanks for the response.

Yes - it works from every single thing I've tried, except Lookout alarm logging. Windows, text files, spreadsheets, Lookout Alarm Journals (I have to change it to default printer to test this, but then switch it right back after testing) everything works except Lookout alarm logging. Frustrating.

If my memory serves me, traditionally Lookout will only print to the default printer. After changing the default printer Lookout must be restarted to recognize the new default printer.

I've tried it both ways. If it's the default printer, when I set it to log to LPT1, it warns me that it's the default printer and using the default printer to log alarms will cause problems. So from what Lookout says, it shouldn't be the default. Now, for printing the alarm journal, it will only print to the default printer.

But, as I said before. It's making no difference in my case, same results, default printer or no.
