Hi,

Have you seen this article (Lookout Web Client Troubleshooting) ?http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/3efedde4322fef19862567740067f3cc/be15fb343c2e9ba4862569dc007ac900
Also the Tutorial linked below explains step by step how to set up and download a Lookout web client applications.
http://zone.ni.com/devzone/conceptd.nsf/webmain/CB471DFFB1132F51862568D300505CE6?opendocument

Make sure that your security setting in your Browser allows ActiveX controls.
I hope it helps.

You may notice that the link NI provided has many errors listed but not the one you are getting. The other link is the basic help file I'm sure you read before trying to set up your web client.

I remember the same error your are getting but I can't remember exactly how I corrected it. So if you could give me a little more info I think I can help.

What web server software are you running?
What do you have entered for your export options?

Hi, i made some change on my computer. I install IIS 6.0 from microsoft and i purchase Dns2go.
After installation, i change the setting on my web export options, i still use the same directory like c:\inetpub\wwwroot and for the URL my Domain Name from the Dns2go... Everything works but all my process on the net look with an "X" on each modbus station, How can i resolve this trouble?

Now thats a different problem, I am having the same problem with my app. I have red Xs over all logical displays but my trends still show fine. I haven't been back to the job site to work on this yet, if I find anything I will let you know. My app ran flawlessly for awhile, everything worked, then the red Xs.

Things I will be looking for are: As the NI tech said, check the web browser security settings. If you are using XP, make sure internal firewall is turned off. Check user settings within Lookout (in the lookout user manager, go to the account properties for each user account and click on "groups", each user must be part of a group or you will get red Xs, even in runtime).

Hi,

I assume that you are using Lookout Web Player 5.1. Make sure that you are transferring "lookout.sec" file from the Development PC (server) to the client PC. This file is located at c:\winnt\system32 in windows 2000 (in XP, c:\windows\systm32) on the Development PC. I hope this helps.
