my latter addresses are as follows ab1.f8:3 but some have addresses i.e. ab1.f8:3/15 but when i put the / symbol in the remote address nothing functions

On the AB object, "f" is a float and cannot address individual bits.

Otherwise, you would replace the "/" with an "_".
