Does the (free) Borland C++ Compiler v5.5 Work With MX?

Has anyone successfully used Borland C++ Compiler v5.5 or Open Watcom C/C++ 1.2 as the compiler for MX? (As opposed the supported MS Visual C/C++ 6.0)

I'm using WinXP and MX 71.3.

As you are aware the Borland C++ Compiler is not supported. However, I did test the free Borland C++ v5.5 compiler with MATRIXx 71.3. It does not work out of the box. Since it is not supported I did not try to make fixes to force it to work.
