Tradewind software function

I have been using Matrixx for years now, and (I think from version 7) on a PC Tradewind software is loaded during startup. Could somebody clearify the purpose of this programme?

I noticed that too... Hopefully when NI releases 6.3 and then version 7.x that software will be gone. Based upon the word fragment "Wind" I believe this to be a Wind River Legacy piece of software the function of which is not completely clear. If you kill that process, doe Mx continue to run? If you go to Add/Remove software is that software independently there so that it could be removed as an Isolated product if Mx will start up and opperate properly without it?

Hugo,
TradeWinds is a component that was added in MATRIXx version 7.0. It manages the communication between SystemBuild and BetterState. This is the CORBA data communication refered to in section 4.2.6 of the Adminstrators guide.
If you are not using BetterState you will not need TradeWinds. On Windows it is a service that you can stop from the Control Panel (Administrative Tools>Services). After you stop it you can uninstall it from Add/Remove Programs.
