ATT OSCAR, Firewire and Measurement & Automation Studio

Hi

I'm experiencing problems with my new 8MP firewire camera, Allied Vision Technologies Oscar F-810C and MAX. When I start MAX I can see the camera and I can grab images without any problem. But, as soon as I have changed any of the settings (video mode, color setting, speed) I get an error message: 0xBFFF8006 "The attribute type you specified is unknown, please try again". Thus, I cannot change any of the settings for my camera.
Is there a solution to this problem?

All the best

What version of the driver are you using?

The AVT Oscar has some new video modes that are only supported by NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 2.0. I have successfully used the AVT Oscar F510C in Measurement & Automation Explorer with the new version of the FireWire driver.

Thank you Johann. I am using ver. 1.5 so I guess that is my problem. Next step in my case is to order a new Firewire driver.

Sorry for typos 🙂

I downloaded ver. 1.5.3 (that is the latest update available on NI website) and ran the update process in my comp. My camera still doesn't work. MAX doesn't show the right driver version (it is still ver. 1.5 in MAX). What can this depend on? Is it possible to download update ver. 2.0 somewhere?

Thanks in advance!

You have to order version 1.5.2 from NI (free upgrade) before installing the 1.5.3 patch.

Otherwise, wait a month or two for the release of version 2 and order that from NI (also free upgrade).
