Generally these discussion forums are used to assist in troubleshooting issues with National Instruments products.  This particular board is meant to aid machine vision applications with either helping users develop/debug software or troubleshoot camera/hardware setups.  Do you have an idea of what sort of cameras you intend to use? Do you plan on using NI Drivers or perhaps developing in LabVIEW?

The choice is so wide, it is necessary to know in details what do you want your system to do, do you need a constant live stream from cameras, or just recording when movement is detected....and so on.

But I personally use Xeoma video surveillance software and am more than happy with it. It is powerful, AFFORDABLE, user-friendly and they have great support (which is veeeery important).
