Camera File for Pulnix TM-6710

I'm using Pulnix TM-6710 with NI PCI-1422.

I found camera file for TM-6710 from IMAQ folder.
But, I could not tell how to connect TM-6710 to PCI-1422. (There is no information at all in both NI and PULNIX).

Pls, let me know,
1. Pin connection btw. TM-6710 and PCI-1422

2. Camera file for TM-6710 lists upto "Line (7)".
What is the physical pin numbers for Line (0) thru Line (7) ?

3. The meaning of "Pattern", "Action (PG)", and "Line"
in camera file.

4. The meaning of "100, 3000" in "Line (7) { Start (High) 100, 3000 } "

Thanks in advance

Hello,

Attached is the pinout for the Pulnix TM-6710.

The Pattern, Action, and Line commands are used to control the pattern generation of the 1422 and should be transparent to the user. The NI-IMAQ driver level software uses these commands.

The numbers you are referencing in question four are used to set a minimum period for the overall pattern generation cycle and should also be transparent to the user.

In the pinout doc the connector P/N "51 pin Airborne connector is part Airborne MP211-051-113-4300" is in error (as is the Pulnix data sheet). The correct spec. is AirBorn (no 'e') MP311-051-113-4300; other configurations in the last two fields are also possible.

The pinout attached here is somewhat different than that in the documentation supplied with my PCI1422, in that pins 51 thruogh 82 are listed as NOT USED!

Yeong,

To connect the camera to the PCI-1422, you don't have to build your own cable. Just buy the appropriate cable from NI.

The NI sales reps and tech reps that I have talked to have not been able to come up with a cable for this camera, they only offer their SCB connector block and cable to connect to the NI 1422 leaving the connection to the camera to the end user. If you know of an appropriate cable please let me know.
Thank You

In this thread Andy Bell of NI provides the pin out for the necessary cable to connect the TM-6710 to the PCI-1422. I have had this cable made up previosly for one of my customers at UC Davis. Please contact me at eastlund@graftek.com, if you would like a cable made.

It is true that National Instruments does not currently offer a cable to interface our digital frame grabbers to a Pulnix 6710. While using an SCB 100 isn't as bad as it sounds, having a custom cable made through Greftek is easier.

In response to a previous response, Pins 51 through 82 are not used on a the NI 1422. These lines are used on the NI 1424 to provide 2 more taps (4 taps total). Since the 1422 only has 2 taps (16 differential data lines), it only uses lines 1 to 32 for data.
