Camera File for using basler A406k with NI PCIe-1429 frame garbber

Dear,All

I have a trouble in using NI PCIe-1429 Camera Link frame grabber. I just want to use PCIe-1429 to acquire image with basler camera A406K ,but I don't know how to generate the camera file with" NI Camera File Generator".

Anyone who knows  the solution, please help me!

Your prompt reply will be very much appreciated!

Thanks.

You should be able to use the Basler A404k camera file with the Basler A406k.  To do so, you would use the Basler CCT+ camera configuration utility to set the camera to 8-tap 8-bit mode, 4-tap 10-bit mode or 4-tap 8-bit mode.  The A404k camera file can be located at http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/nipc.product?pid=6714&asid=1102, but the camera file should already have been loaded to the computer when the NI Vision Acquisition Software was installed.  The CCT+ camera configuration tool can be downloaded from the Basler web page, see http://www.baslerweb.com/beitraege/beitrag_en_100491.html.  You may also need to use the Basler utility to change the clock rate to 50 MHz.

This should get you started.  However, if your goal is to run the A406k camera at full resolution and frame rate you may run into an issue.  At full data rate, the A406k produces more than 836 MB/s of data.  According to the data sheet for the PCIe-1429, the framegrabber can handle a maximum of 680 MB/s.  You may be successful using the A404k in its 8-tap 8-bit mode to reach 167 fps (approx 678 MB/s), setting the camera clock to 85 MHz in CCT+.

The PCIe-1433 may allow you to utilize the A406k at full resolution and frame rate.  It allows for data rates up to 850 MB/s, and handles cameras with a 10-tap 8-bit output at 85 MHz, see https://www.ni.com/en-us/shop/model/pcie-1433.html.  NI may be able to provide an example camera file???

Thank you for your assistance.

I have the basler software CTT+ ,but I  don't know which parameter should I to change the clock rate to 50MHZ.

I  look forward to hearing from you.

For this I wish to express my gratitude once again.

I stand corrected.  The Basler A406k only operates at 85 MHz.  Use the CCT+ utility to switch the camera to its 4-tap 8-bit, 4-tap 10-bit or 8-tap 8-bit mode.  Also change the camera to the identical mode in Measurement and Automation.  Then, see if you can acquire an image.

Regarding the A406k and the new NI PCIe-1433 board, it is possible to acquire images at the full data output of the A406k, see the thread located at http://ni.lithium.com/t5/Machine-Vision/Does-the-1433-support-the-Basler-406k/m-p/1217139.
