Camera file for Duncan Tech RH1100 mono

Hi.

I'm trying to acquire images from a Duncan Tech RH 1100 mono camera with a PCI 1428 board, but I have not the camera file. Does anyone have a camera file for the Duncan Tech RH1100 mono or Has anyone produced a suitable icd file that they'd be willing to share?

I've tried searching this forum, the NI camera file  and the NI industrial camera advisor with no luck. I realize I can use NI's camera file generator to make one myself, but I don't have experience to know if I could generate an icd file that truly has all the features of the camera enabled for MAX and LV.

Thanks, Marisol

You can try this one. Change the txt to icd in the filename extension. Change the Model field and BitDepth for 16 bit if you need to. I compared this file to a RH1100 RGB 1428 file and those were the only differences I saw on a quick scan. You might try www.GeoSpatialSystems.com. I think they may still support Duncantech cameras.

Good luck.

Thank you very much Fraktur!!

I change the BitDepth for 16 bit as you indicated me and I could acquire images Smiley Very Happy

However I have one more question, if the RH1100 is a remote head camera system that can support up to three remote imaging heads operating simultaneously, why when I connect two or three heads only show me one image and one channel in MAX?, Do you know how I can see the images of the others imaging heads?, Should appear more channels?

Regards and thanks again

Hi, Marisol

I am glad I just happen to have that file in a folder for my camera. Is it great when an image magically appears? Unfortunately the NI IMAQ 1428 only has one CameraLink port and you need two for a 48 bit image. I have a Duncantech MS 4100 and NI IMAQ 1428 and can only get 8 bit RGB even though the three sensors are 10 bit. You may be able to reconfigure the camera through the serial port to 8 bits per image array and then get all three heads. I hope you have a manual or can find one on line. I create a RGB U32 image to wire to IMAQ Grab Acquire.vi and then use the IMAQ Extract ColorPlanes.vi to process each color band seperately.

I hope that helps,

Fraktur

Hi Fraktur!!

I have been working with the camera RH1100, I got the camera manual and the DTControl-FG Ducncanthech’s software. The DTControl-FG can control of some camera operating parameters as gain for each imaging channel, exposure time, integration time, bit depth, etc.; all this functions are controlled by the serial port, according to the manual it’s possible acquire and archive images up to three remote imaging heads through frame grabber NI PCI-1428 only using the DTControl-FG  software.

Knowing this I connected the camera control unit RH1100 both serial port and PCI-1428 frame grabber, then I install and start the DTControl-FG software.  The software should be automatically detect the serial port to which the camera is connected and the frame grabber (NI PCI-1428) link but only detected me the serial port connection and displays an error message when it trying to detect the PCI-1428 (this message reads: “No Frame Grabber link Found” …… I attached you the screenshot).  Due this I can’t acquire images and the software only let me configure certain camera output parameters… I changed the bit depth to 8 bits.

I tried to test the camera using MAX and the camera file that you sent me (but using this time 8 bitdepth) and I can get images but only one of the imaging head :(. I need using three heads.

Do You use DTControl-FG software to configure your camera?, Detects your framegrabber?, I think it's a communication problem between the software and the camera link but I do not know how to fix it. I have tried to install the DTControlFG in the same folder as the NI-IMAQ, in the National Instruments folder,  in the file folder cameras, etc. I do not what else to do, any suggestions?

Regards

Hi, Fraktur,

I mentioned a while ago that you are using Duncantech MS 4100 and NI IMAQ 1428.

I am desperately trying to set acquisition under MAX for the same camera and the same frame grabber and getting error message:

"Error 0xBFF60022. A timeout error while waiting for specified event".

I tried a lot of things: increasing frame timeout, reducing size of the image, using different camera files... Nothing helps.

Could you share your experience of setting this camera?

I am using:

MAX 5.3

Vision Acquisition Software August 2012

NI-IMAQ 4.7

Thank you.

Sergiy.
