In the Inspection Steps the palette for Use Additional Tools there is a VI called User Input. This allows the program to wait for the user to inputs a value before the program continues.

Thanks, I should have indicated that my execution target is a smart camera. Can I extract the User Input VI and call it from the RUN LABVIEW VI in the “Inspection Steps: Use Additional tools” function on the remote target side of VBAI?

I don't think I fully understand what you are trying to accomplish. You can hook up a button to the front of the smart camera and trigger each acquisition. In VBAI select the Triggered Acquisition checkbox on the Trigger tab of the Acquire Image (Smart Camera) step.

Is your smart camera hooked up to a monitor? Is there something that you need to do in LabVIEW that you cannot do in VBAI regarding the User Input step?
