To all,

I can find cracks using NI vision assitan. My question is: can use USB camera/webcam to detect crack via live image?

I am new to this software, so please help me.

Info:

Lab View 8.5

NI VISION Assitant 2009 triall

Automatic and Development Software

NI IMAQ ( to connect USB webcam/camera)

Please tell me whether i have enough software to do the task.

thank

Vision assistant is just to check the steps before you start wiring the values in labVIEW. You can detect the cracks using vision assistant but for building it into an application you require labVIEW. You should also have vision development module which helps you with image processing functions.

Can you post a few images so that we can work on them?

Dear Muks,

I am sorry for late responding. I am including some image as well as screen shot of my simple project. Thus, instead of detecting cracks on the pipe, I just want to detect the circles on a product. ( sample picture). However, i ran into some problems and honestly, i just don;t know how to solve it.

Please take a look at the screenshot and guide me. I would love to learn this solfware but I just donl;t know where to start.

Purpose: To detect cirlces on at a part via live image. .

thank you very much

Notes: screeshot number 2. My NI Vision Asssitant cannot recognize my webcam.

I have Pixxo USB Webcam, AW-M2130

I am again stressing the same point. YOu cannot build a application using vision assistant. You can use a vision builder instead. And for detecting the cracks can you post a few sample images?

Hi.

I would like to ask on how to use the LabVIEW application to detect a crack on a boiler header.

Could you help me and give some guides since I am a new to this software.

Thank you.

Hello Nadiah,

Typically, it is a better idea to create a new thread for a new question instead of posting on a thread that is several years old.  I noticed that you already did just that, so I would simply like to point any other curious forum-goers to the thread devoted to your question:

Good luck implementing your vision application.
