Devices and Interfaces cause MAX crash

MAX version 4.6.1f0, Windows XP (SP3)

I am trying to add a GigE camera, but whenever I open MAX and try to expand the Devices and Interfaces tree, MAX crashes.

I have attached the error log.  Any suggestions?

I tried to fix the MAX database as described here, http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/86256F0E001DA9FF86256FFD005B827C?OpenDocument

Unfortunately, this did not fix the problem.

Hello vt92,

Does MAX only crash when you have the camera installed?  Does it work well without the camera?

MAX crashes regardless if the camera is connected or not.

Hey,

I would follow What is the Process for Removing MAX Database Corruption? If you get stuck at a step, try completing the steps in Window Safe Mode.  Also, have you tried installing the latest version of the NI-DAQmx 9.2.3 driver?  This will reinstall MAX.

I'm having trouble downloading NI-DAQ.  I've tried the NI downloader and the manual download, but windows reports the file as corrupt or invalid.  It may be a problem with the firewall here at work.

Hi vt92,

It definitely sounds like a firewall issue.  You may have to go through your IT department to see if they can allow access.  If you are unable to do this, please contact us and we can have a copy of the driver mailed to you.

I installed NI-DAQ 9.2.3 (MAX version 4.7.7f0).  MAX still crashes.

Any further suggestions?

Hi vt92,

Have you also gone through the process for removing MAX database corruption?
