Digital images from the IEEE 1394 connector

I have a color digital camera with a IEEE 1394 connector and I'm using the NI-Imaq software to acquire a sequence of images. If I set a number of images greater than 60 the algorithm will return black frames. Why does it happen? Where is the hardware limit if any?

What version of IMAQ 1394 are you using? You might want to make sure you have the most current version (1.5). I know 1.0 had a limit of around 60 frames. Anything more than that would crash. I think that limit was fixed in 1.1.

If you are already using v. 1.5, I'm not sure what the problem is. What camera are you using? Are all the frames black, or just the ones > 60?

Also make sure that your IMAQ max images setting in MAX is large enough. I usually set it very large (about 5000) to make sure I never run out of available images.
