I am using an AVT Stingray F201C (1394b) camera, and most of the images that I grab or snap are distorted. The images appear to be sliced and then spliced badly. I have attached an example of a snap of graph paper.
What would cause this? And more importantly, how do I fix or prevent it?
I am using C# for my application, but it also happens in MAX.
Image size and format and capture rate seems to play a role, but it happens in all cases.
Thanks!

Ryan,
This type of distortion generally happens with Firewire cameras when packets are lost. It could be due to various things such as a bad cable, poor quality 1394 adapter/chipset, or your system's PCI/memory bus being saturated (the common 1394 chipsets have very little onboard buffering).
