Hi,
Just some quick questions about the spec of the EVS-1464, both for Windows and RT.
1. Can system memory be upgraded by the user? If not by the user, by NI perhaps? Currently the spec is 2GB of ram.
2. Is there an option to replace the SATA HD with a solid-state hard drive, on the Windows version?
3. Can the user configure the system into a dual-boot system that supports both windows and RT, like you can with a PXI controller?
Thanks!

Hi John,
1) I believe opening it to replace the memory (not entirely easy due to the compact fanless design) would possibly void the warranty. You would have to consult an NI salesperson to confirm if there is any possibility of getting a larger amount of memory installed at the factory than what is normally offered.
2) The Windows one includes a larger rotating SATA disk while the RT version includes a 1GB SATA industrial solid-state drive. Obviously the latter is too small for a normal Windows install, so you would have to find some other non-factory drive as a replacement. Again, putting this in yourself would possibly void the warranty.
3) The RT version definitely has the same BIOS options for choosing to boot between a Windows partition and RT. It would likely be up to you to partition the drive properly and install both Windows and RT as we do not have any shipping configurations such as this.
Hope this helps,
Eric
