Evaluation of vision installation

Hi

I just installed a build on a WinXP computer from a vision app I made. I want to evaluate if my app works before I bye a licence.

All works fine except I do not get any measurement data, and a front panel error comes up saying "-1074396157    /    IMAQ Point Distances  Unlicensed copy of NI Vision.".

The evaluation period expires in 30 days from today 31/3 2010.

When I try to reinstall the run time module (taken from the VAS2009november) it says that a newer version is already installed.

Do I have to bye a licence to try vision apps?

You will need to buy a licence. The evaluation version is just for demonstration and not for deploymet.

Its seems to be not really true, sorry.

You can build Application with Vision Module. On the target machine you will need to install Vision Run-Time (in evaluation mode, of course).

Not sure if Vision Run-Time can be included into installer in the Evaluation Mode (probably yes, if Run-Time will be installed on development machine).

So, when first Vision VI (where license required) will be called inside of application, then you will get window, where you should click on Evaluation - then 30 days will be granted.

Sometimes this window located behind of Front Panel of the application - use Alt-Tab for bringing this window to front.

If Vision VI returned "non licensed error" immeaditely without dialog, it means that the License for Vision Run-Time already expired (or Run-Time not properly installed). Probably old version was already installed before.

Check status in NI License Manager in this case.

Andrey.
