Revisiting this.....

Can someone explain better to me what the inputs 'Point Symbol' and 'Colors' do on the IMAQ Overlay ROI function?

Specifically, for 'Point Symbol', how would one change it from the default?  Are there templates out there that have been made for other point symbols?   Can one use this input to effectively alter the pen (point) shape and size?

For Colors, why would you just want one color versus an array of colors that is required (I use a single color but place a build array fx between the color value and the fx input so that is shows the color I want).

Thoughts / examples are appreciated....

Happy Thanksgiving to all - your help on these forums has been invaluable.

Hey Don,

I am glad that you have found the forums useful. For the IMAQ Overlay ROI VI's 'Point Symbol' input, the input is an array of values that will be placed on the image to specify a point ROI. A point ROI is a type of ROI (just like circle or rectangle). If you wire a 3x3 array of all zeros into this input and have a point ROI, the IMAQ Overlay ROI VI will place a black 3 pixel by 3 pixel square on your image. As far as templates, I am not sure if there are already some templates for this input made for various shapes (arrow, stars, etc.).

For the Colors input, if you have multiple ROI's to be overlayed, this array allows you to specify the color of each one of them individually. By default all the ROI's will be green unless you change them with this input.

For future reference, it may be beneficial to create a new thread for the new questions and simply reference this thread. This keeps each question in an individual thread.

Hope this helps.
