GigE vision on NI cRIO-9068

Solved!
Go to solution

Hey Eric,

Does GigE work with the cRIO 9081 or 9082 chassis?  Those are a little more expensive, but might be a good option.  They have a lot more processing power.

Thanks,

Bruce

Hello Bruce:

Yes, the cRIO 908x chassis do support GigE. However they cost almost twice from the cRIO-9068, and the project is a bit constrained in budget, that is why we were looking for alternatives.

Well, that is good to know.  I am thinking about doing a future project with the 9081 chassis, and knowing GigE vision works is a key detail.  I probably knew that when I was looking at that project, but couldn't remember.

If you want an FPGA available for image processing, the 908x chassis might be your best option.  If you don't really need the FPGA processing, I would probably pick the EVS.

I know this is an old post ,Still...... I am having a GIGE camera and cRIO 9082. But I cannot see the camera in  Max. Do anyone know how to fix this?

Did you install IMAQdx and GigE Vision support to the target?

Did you enable the secondary Ethernet port for TCP/IP (assuming that is where the camera is connected)?

Does the IP configuration of the camera and 9082 secondary port match (usually setting both to DHCP/LinkLocal is best/easiest)?

Hi BlueCheese,

I have installed IMAQdx RT , Vision RT in cRIO. I am not sure how to install GIGE support.(How to?)

How do I check if I have enabled TCP/IP in second port?

Yes, both IPs match- 192.28.10.12 and 192.28.10.11 (though configured in static rather than DHCP).

Can you show a list of software you have installed to the cRIO? Under the NI-IMAQdx component there is an optional piece for GigE Vision that must be installed.
