How to create spectral histogram of an Image using C#,VB.NET and Vision Development Module

Hi,
I recently read in several IEEE articles that "Local Spectral Histogram" is an effective method for image and texture segmentation. I know that IMAQ provides an FFT function to convert the image into its FFT representation. I hope that someone could help me to create spectral histogram of an image using IMAQ Vision Development Module and C# or VB.NET. I know our community has lots of experts and sure someone could figure it out. Thanks in advance.

Hi VBCoder,

I would suggest taking a look at the NI Vision for LabWindows/CVI help.  These same function calls should work in the other supported text based languages.  Assuming you are in Windows XP you can find the help by going to Start> All Programs> National Instruments> Vision> Documentation> NI Vision.  This will bring you to the help file.  Within the help file I would take a look at the imaqHistogram function and the HistogramReport.  That should give you a good starting point.

Hi Adam,

Thanks for responding. I'm actually familiar with IMAQ for Visual Studio .NET. what I meant is how to generate the "Local Spectral Histogram" and not the one that is easily achieved using CWIMAQVISION.COLORHISTOGRAM2 function. upon anyone's request I'd be happy to upload the paper that describes that.

All help is appreciated in this regard.

Hi VBCoder,

You can post the article if you would like however I don’t know how much help I can be.  We do not really develop applications like that.  We do have alliance partners who will help you to build application.  If you would like to know more about how this works you can look at www.ni.com/alliance

Hi VBCoder,

Have you made any attempts at it yet?  Do you think you could post what you have tried so far?  I will look at it and see if anything comes to mind.

Hi Adam,

I currently work on figuring out the mathematics behind that it is "the key" for implementation.

Hi VBCoder,

Let me know when you figure it out.  I will take a look at it but I can’t make any promises that I will be able to come up with much.  Like I said before if you are looking for someone to develop an application for you I would suggest www.ni.com/alliance

Dear Adam,
I tried to contact the authors millions of times but they ignored it (chinese tradition) thanks for help anyway.
