IMAQ USB Property Page

If anyone can help me with my IMAQ USB questions, I wouldbe inn your debt!

Question 1: I now think my issue with low resoltuion (see previous post) for USB acquisition is not with the device itself, since I have installed two different USB video acquisition products )that appear to be DirectSHow compatible) and I get the exact same set-up windows when the property page VI is called. It looks like this is some kind of default Windows DirectShow window rather than vendor specific. Any idea of where to go next? The vendors (Hauppague and Belkin) have not been any help.) I have installed their most recent device drivers from the web.

Question 2: Anyone know of a machine vision quality USB camera to skip the RS-170 altogether. One preferably with a C mount lens. (Think Firewire without the Fire.)

Question 3: I am running Windows2000 with Labview 7.1/Vision7.1+IMAQ for USB. Do I need tyo upgrade to Windowsw XP to take full advantage of the USB acquisition?? Is this (Question 1) a USB upgrade issue?

Question 4: Does NI have any plans to "officially" support USB acquisition, much like Firewire?

Q1 - The attached screenshot is what I see for a CreativeLabs webcam when I call the 'IMAQ USB PropertyPage.vi' and the the setting input is changed to 'Video Settings'.

Q2 - You might want to check out IDS cameras - they have machine vision quality USB cameras that have DirectShow compatibility. I have never tested their cameras with our driver, however, if they support DirectShow, they should work fine.

Q3 - It shouldn't make a difference either Win 2000 or Win XP. I would make sure that you have the latest DirectX driver installed either way.

Q4 - All I know is that it is being considered.

Hopefully that helps out! Good luck with your projects!
