IMAQ WindGrid?????

Can anyone tell me what is the purpose of IMAQ WindGrid??Its not clear in the online help provided with Vision.Any sample example as to where it is employed will be useful.

The other VIs in that palette allow a user to interactively select a region of interest. The windgrid VI allows you to turn on an invisible grid such that when the user tries to select a region of interst only points which are at the intersection of the gridlines can be selected.
