IMAQ board problem scarabXCV200.bin

Hi,
We have an PCI-1428 card that has a wierd temper. When it is plugged onto a fresh PCI slot, Windows can find the new device and search for its driver, then everything works fine. But when the computer is rebooted, it becomes an old guy, and MAX will generate this error: "The scarabXCV.bin is missing or currupted". No, I find that it is neither missing nor currupted. But soon I ran out of PCI slots (I only have 5 on my computer).
When you delete the device and reboot, Windows will find it as a new device, and then it works happily. It is exactly how I use it these days -- reboot twice, one for deleting and one for reinstalling.
I believe there are much better once forever solution -- can anyone help me? It is painful when each time I have to reboot... I contacted via email but the following suggestions does not work.
Thank you!

Peng

----------This is the suggestion that does not help-----------------

Hello Peng,

Thank you for contacting National Instruments!

I would suggest trying the following steps to get rid of this error:
1) Update the driver for the PCI-1428 in Device Manager. This is how you
can do it:
a) Right click on 'My Computer' and select 'Properties'
b) Click on 'Device Manager'
c) Under 'National Instruments IMAQ Interfaces', right-click on NI
PCI-1428 and choose to 'Update Driver'
d) Follow the instructions to complete updating the driver.

If this does not work,
2) Repair re-install the NI-IMAQ driver:
a) Open the Control Panel. Double-click on Add/Remove Programs.
b) Choose 'National Instruments Software' from the list that
populates, and then click on 'Change/Remove'.
c) Select NI-IMAQ from the list and choose to 'Repair'.
d) If you still see the error, choose to 'Remove' the driver the next
time and then re-install NI-IMAQ.

This should solve the problem. Please let me know if you need further
assistance. You can contact me either by replying to this e-mail, or
by dialing 1-866-275-6964 (1-866-ASK-MYNI) and then mentioning your
service request number (7192585). Have a great day, and good luck
with your application.

Hi
You are right! When I had thought I did exactly what your thread tolds me, I didn't. I installed my Lavbiew on the D:\Program Files. Today I thought of this and reinstalled it on C drive, this wierd problem disappears!

But now, what frustrating me is that a file is lost:  the Vision Analysis.llb disappears. Previously everything works fine, but today after reinstallation, the program prompts me that "IMAQ LIneProfile.vi is missing". As the following thread suggests, it should be under C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.5\vi.lib\Vision\Analysis.llb  .

I am using NI Labview 8.5 and Vision 8.5, and my IMAQ is an PCI-1428.
    Thank you!

Peng
