IMAQ spline interpolation shows strange artefacts

Can someone explain the strange artefacts I see when using the IMAQ spline interpolation routine to resample an image? (See the 2 small attached files)
Some pixels get very wrong colors. Is this due to the spline routine itself or is it maybe a bug?
