IMAQ1394 sub palette

Hello all,

I installed recently GUPPY IEEE1394 firewire camera and is working properly. When i want to write a vi for acquisition and processing just looked at vision subpalette in function palette and searched for IMAQ IEEE1394 sub palette. Then  realised that all the VI s are grayed out not appearing usual.

Can anybody help about what is causing the problem???Image of subpalette is attached.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Is this after you have installed and restarted the labVIEW?

Hi Muks,

The camera seems working with IMAQ 1394 GRAB example vi (example finder) well when i run it.

Yes initially i installed vision acquisition software and installed firewire card and later connected the camera to firwire card. Then restarted my PC.

Then used MAX to test for snap and grab. Worked everything well. I dont see any problem with particular vi's for IEEE1394 but their appearance in gray colour look very strange.

You mean to say the functionality is good and just the appearrence is grayed out?

Yes. At the moment i am trying to trigger externally image acquisition and will let you know tomorrow

This is expected and purely cosmetic. Ever since IMAQdx was released, the IMAQ1394 driver has been deprecated and moved to the "legacy" palette. IMAQdx encompasses all the functionality of the old 1394-only driver but adds new functionality and new camera support. Any new applications should be developed with IMAQdx instead since it is more actively supported.

Yes you are right Eric. I just learnt it yesterday while i was browsing through an article in knowledge base about IEEE1394 firewire camera. Thanks for your help.

There is one more problem in acqisition. i.e.

I tried to acquire images using external triggering, with a digital waveform generated by DAQ port. Used triggered grab VI from IMAQdx example finder section.

Then camera mode has changed to Format 7_mode0 for external triggering. Everything worked well for frame rate from 2 upto 6.8frame/sec.

Digital pulse parameters are frequency = 2, 5, 8, 20, 30 or 50

Pulse width is nearly 20 microsec.

After that increased frame rate to 20, 30 or 50 etc...but it does not acquire 20, 30 or 50 frames/sec always shows maximum frame rate as 6.8fps for frequency 20, 30 or 50.

The resolution is 752 by 480 with packet size 452 bytes.

Can anybody suggest me what parameters are causing this trouble??

Thanks.
