Hello everyone! I'm really quite new to the NI community, as well as Labview. I would like to ask for help from any of you who are expertised in the domain of machine vision. I have an image from microscope as in attachment, and I would like to recognise the position of the four rectangular objects. I used Imaq Detech Rectangulars, but it could not be done, and the result is shown in the attachment as well. Any help or recommendation would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
It seems difficult to me in this case. You have a dramatic nonuniformity of lighting.
I would recommand to managed to get a better image before starting to process it.
If possible, use a backlight or a more diffuse light to avoid shadows and this gap in the background.
The better image, the easier for image processing.
Then I think the IMAQ particle analysis functions are a good way to count and localize your parts.
Good luck
Regards

Hi!
Thank you for your prompt reply.
You are right, quality of the image is the problem. I have tried several to get a better image, but i could not make it. It is due to the size of the object is about 40 micro-millimeter. I have also tried with particle analysis, but the result is defavoravle as you can see in the attachment. Any other suggestion to deal with the image? Thank you in advance!

Hi,
Now I could find the way to improve quality of the image, and I could recognize the patterns by using IMAQ Exctract Curve together with some mathematic issues to deal with the problem. So, thank you for your reply anyway.
