Hello Tom,

The CAR number is 239233 and R&D mentioned that it is definitely not an expected behavior and is currently investigating into this.

Wondering if this is now fixed?

At this time there is no target fix date for this issue.  The menu not opening is actually expected behavior, but R&D is looking at it from a usability standpoint to determine if it is something that should be changed in future releases.  All updates and fixes are included in the release notes for each new version of LabVIEW, so you can continue to monitor those to see if this CAR is added to the fixed issues list.

This issue is most definetly not solved.

As Andy C. stated: "R&D mentioned that it is definitely not an expected behavior and is currently investigating into this.", therefore I can not believe that you (Chris L.) could say that this is expected behavior.

Microsoft defines a context menu as "Drop-down menus that display a small set of commands and options related to the current contex." In this situation the current context is the viewer object which encapulates the tool strip, hence a right-click anywhere on the viewer object should result in the displaying of the context menu. Furthermore, the context menu is set as a property of the viewer object and NOT the viewer object's toolstrip.

This is typical NI jargon to not fixing a known issue. I have documented and researched several other bugs ("features") that are well known on this forum (check some of my other posts) and it in some cases it has been 2+ years and still no fix.

While I can say that the underlying implementation of GigEVision is quite adiquete, the UI controls and features area  bit lacking.
