We want to use Ni labview for OCR in a pharmaceutical application.
We are printing 5 lines using font OCRB 2 mm.
We have high rejection value and mis recognition between 0 and o, between R and P and between M and N.
When we used font size 2.5mm the results was good but with 2mm we have high rejection.
We are using camera basler aca1300-60gm 1.5 MP resolution.
and lens 12mm.
Is this camera resolution enough ? Or we need higher in order to get better results with 2mm font.
And what can we do using labview in order get better results

Hello,
Please consider as a whole system instead of focusing just the camera resolution, because camera resolution is just a small fraction of whole system.
It depends on your illumination, lens resolution, line speed, vibration, text length, FOV, positioning of the camera and more.
You can improve in many ways but a camera resolution can't be decided by just looking at the character size.

Sevincom is absolutely correct, but he forgot to mention the text being recognized. If you are reading monofont, it's much easier than trying to read, say mile markers along railroad tracks, with fonts that have changed over the last century and a half.
Post more information about the application, we may be able to offer more helpful advice.

You need to look at how many pixels are covering each character. To determine that you have to know the field of view. Tell us that and then we may be able to help.
