Machine Vision for multiple camera storage?

Hi, I need to store the video from (at least) 4 cameras. The video is supposed to be displayed in the front panel of a vi. The transfer protocol could be USB or IEEE1394, even TCP/IP. Required image resolution is 640*480pxls, frame rate 10-16 fps.

Is this task feasible using Machine Vision, or should I use dedicated hardware like a hdd recorder, tapping the video signal (possibly with lower quality) from this into LabVIEW?

Torfinn

It should be possible, I currently store images from two IEEE1394 cameras simultaneously at 640x480 res around 15 fps. The program should be able to handle more as long as your hard drive can write the data fast enough.

Dear Both,

Is there any smaple code that can capture image simultaneously using two IEEE1394 cameras  ?

And what is the hardware requirement if I want to set up this program ?

Thanks !

Regards,

Metron

A good example for dual acquisition is a simple grab vi given as a demo with the software.

Almost forgot you do need IMAQ Vision for IEEE 1394 for almost any firewire camera.
