Measurement & Automation Explorer only finds one device

Hi there.

I'm using the Measurement & Automation Explorer to set the features of 2 cameras before recording of them via a LabVIEW program. I first used 2 different cameras and everything worked nicely. Now I want to use 2 cameras of the same type and the Measurement & Automation Explorer can always only access one camera. When trying to access the other I get the error message: Error 0xBFF6902C Unable to connect to the camera. Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem? Is it possible that the explorer has a problem with 2 devices with the same name? The cameras are connected to the computer via Ethernet cables, each to one card and I can find them both (and their IP adresses).I'm thankful for every help!

Hi Eule

Are both the IP addresses on the cameras different?

Thanks,

J

Hi Eule,

a good starting point to troubleshoot your devices is the following page: Troubleshooting GigE Vision Cameras

You have to make sure that your cameras are named differently. You should use the manufacturer's configuration utility to supply the cameras with unique names and IP addresses. Also, you will have to make sure the network adapters are configured for the same subnet.

If you need more help, please let us know!

Regards,

Peter
