Mightex _ USB camera initialization error

Dear all,

I have a problem in initializing USB Camera from Mightex.

Test Environment details as below,
Software
        NI vision 8.2.1 <SCRIPT></SCRIPT>
        NI Labview 8.2.0
        NI IMAQ for USB 1.1.1
        NI IMAQ for 1394 2.0.5

Hardware
        Mightex Buffered CMOS camera
        Model:BCE-C030-US

Problem details:
We have an existing software with NI Vision. It is working fine with the Logitech and the other USB webcams available in the market. We bought an industrial grade camera from Mightex. You can refer the details from the link http://mightex.com/. We are getting some errors in integrating the camera with Labview. We able to see the camera in the Labview but can't able to get the images.

An additional information, the camera is detected as a USB device and not an Imaging device in the Windows Device Manager.

Can any one help me in sorting out the issue. I attached snap shot of error  I am getting.

Hi Devender,

Are you sure that the camera that you are using is DirectShow compliant?  On the Mightex website, it looks like the DirectShow drivers for buffered CMOS cameras just came available in December 07. (http://mightex.com/support.shtml)

What Cameras are Supported by the NI-IMAQ for USB Driver? [broken link removed; article no longer available]

Also, I think you forgot or there was an error in attaching the screenshot of the error.  Could you please try this again?

Thanks,

Sherrie

Hello Sherrie, Hello Devender,

I am facing the same scenario as mentioned by you. Mightex claims that the camera supports Directx and Twain drivers. I have dlls for both of them.

The question is how can we make use of this dll to make windows OS to recognize as Imaging device instead of usb devices.

Is there any generic version of drivers for such usb cameras.

Thanks & Best regards

Praveen

I'm don't know of any generic driver for usb cameras.

Devender, what does the error message say?

Thanks,

Hi Devender and Praveen,

I spoke with Mightex over the phone a few minutes ago and found that the Direct Show driver that is available from Mightex is not currently compatible with LabVIEW, though it is compatible with many other software packages.  This is something that Mightex is aware of and they are working to find a solution.

It sounds like there are other Mightex customers who have been able to use the SDK provided by Mightex to interface with LabVIEW, so if you have access to this SDK, perhaps this is an option for you?

Hopefully this information is helpful  to you and explains a bit more of what is going on.

Thanks,

Hello Sherrie,JR76,Devender,

The issue is solved with latest labview support driver release from mightex.

You can use the IMAQ-USB functions to acquire the images from the camera after installing the latest drivers from mightex.

Thanks for all the support and knowledge sharing.

Best regards

Praveen

Hi All,

Even we are using the Mightex Camera as our USB Camera...
Now we could able to grab the image
with the help of this example (Grab with Property Page.vi) available in the examples provided by NI.

But for the dark resolution images we couldnt grab the image....
So please help us if we can change the settings of the camera by any chance with the help of this example..
We tried with several possibilities but that involves the dll linkage.
Which i am totally not aware...

Please reply ASAP or suggest a proper solution for the same...

Cheers,
