NI 1450 Signal IO.llb examples are not executable

I am getting broken VI When I try to open examples from NI 1450 Signal IO.llb. It is looking for the following Vi's
1) Default 1450(FPGA).vi
2) HardwareClose.vi
3) HardwareOpen.vi

Anybody know how to fix it?

thanks

It would appear that something is wrong with your installation of the IMAQ for IEEE-1394 driver. That is the driver which installs NI-1450 (CVS) support for LabVIEW. Somehow you've got the examples on the machine which would indicate that the install went off at some point in time. Could it be that you installed the 1394 driver when you only had LabVIEW 7.0 on your machine? It would have installed NI-1450 support for 7.0 at that time. But if you have 7.1 installed now, you'd not find those VIs. If that's not the situation, I'm not quite sure what could be causing this behavior. But I'd recommend that you uninstall/reinstall your IMAQ for IEEE-1394 driver and make sure that the NI-1450 support for LabVIEW is included in the install. You'll have to choose a "custom installation" rather than the "typical installation" in order to verify this.

Just to clarify the VIs you mentioned in your message:

1) Default 1450 (FPGA).vi
2) HardwareOpen.vi doesn't exist.
3) HardwareClose.vi is really called Close FPGA VI Reference.vi.

I just want to make sure we're on the same page here.

Hope this is helpful. Best of luck to you...

Jim,

I have tried the re-installation several time. When I go into the custom setup I don't see any option for Labview 7.1. It only got support up to Labview 7.0. So every time when I install, it puts the Ni 1450 Support files in to the Labview 7.0 folder. (see attached image file for detail). So what I am trying right now is, after the installation complete I am copying the NI 1450 Support Files from Labview 7.0 folder to the Labview 7.1 folder. Still not working..

Do I need to have FPGA module installed to run these NI 1450 examples?

Please advise me..

Thanks

You shouldn't need the FPGA module in order to accomplish this. Sometimes there's more to it than just copying the files over to the 7.1 filepath. But I see that you have 1.5.1 of the 1394 driver. It turns out that 1.5.2 offers support for LabVIEW 7.1. This should be the solution. If you already have a version of the 1394 driver, 1.5.2 is a free upgrade. As this is not a forum in which I can address this individually for you, feel free to shoot us an email by going to http://www.ni.com/support/ and selecting the option to "Email NI." As this gets targeted to the IMAQ group, we'll be able to help you get an upgrade which should take care of your problem.

I just want to clarify that the FPGA module is NOT needed to run these 1450 VIs. I'm glad to hear that you got it working. Best of luck to you.
