NI 1772 Smart Camera Locks Up

During inspections my NI 1772 Camera "locks up".  It seems to be taking images but it doesn't seem to be analyzing them correctly.  It doesn't find an edge which fails the rest of the program but when you see the new image the edge is found and everything looks correct.  I have to restart the camera to get it to take analyze the images correctly.

I also have two other NI 1722 camera on the same network but they work correctly.

Hi Swobodatech,

Are the other two 1722 cameras running the same inspection as the one that "locks up"?

What version of the IMAQ driver and VBAI are you using on the camera?

Are there any differences, at all, between the way this camera and the other two cameras are set up/configured?

Are there any error messages or are any of the Status LED's red or blinking?

Hello,

Could you double check the model #?  NI doesn't currently sell a 1772, they only sell a 1722, 1742, 1762, 1744 & 1764.

Sorry about that.  Yes it is the 1722.  The inspections for one of the camera is almost identical.  The set up and triggers are the same.  I haven't noticed anything with the LED's.  The camera seems to be taking images.  The inspection image displayed on Vision Builder looks correct as if the inspection was correct but the steps that are supposed to be finished fail.  And I recieve a fail signal but everything that I am looking for is found...but vision builder doesn't recognize that it was found.

Have you tried removing the program and reloading it on the camera?

I have not tried to remove the program from the camera.  If I remove it how do I get it reloaded onto the camera?  I am fairly new to Vision builder and NI Smart Camera's.  Thanks.

Hi,

You can remove programs by going to File»Open. This will list the software on the camera and you can delete a script. Alternatively, you can ftp into your camera and remove the inspection. Remember to save copy onto your harddrive before deleting it.

To add an inspection go to Target»Add/Retrieve Inspections ... and select the inspection you want to load onto the camera.
