Hello
we are using the NI1772, CVI 2012 and VBAI 2012 for an application. On the smart cam 1772 we have a webserver to publish pictures. With the cvi2012 application we publish these pictures with an IE Active X. This application worked for several months in a very good way. No we have a problem that the picture are not more published correctly. Instead of the pictures we get a strange IE view (attached to this post). The application itself is still running correctly but the pictures are not more published.
Does anyone have an idea what could happened?
thanks
Oliver

1. Did you install a new version of something that cuased it to stop working (either on your PC or on the target)?
2. What if you view the web page in a regular Internet Explorer (make sure it's a 32-bit Explorer and not the 64-bit one) instead of using CVI's ActiveX container for IE?
3. Does it work on another machine?
4. Does it work when you use Vision Builder AI to connect to the target and view the inspection in Inspection mode?
5. What version of Vision Builder AI are you using?
6. Have you installed anything on the Smart Camera besides the VBAI software?
Just some thoughts/questions to help figure out what happened.
Thanks,
Brad

Hello Brad,
no we didn't do anything. This happened on a start on a monday morning. The system is shut down over the weekend. It ran for months, windows updates were all disactivated. No changes.
Meanwhile we tried several time to push the three buttons and then the picture came back, but on the wrong position. We made a restart and the picture appeared again, but still on the wrong position.
This is very strange, the application ran for months, the stuck, we re-installed several time the camera new, nothing happened and now the picture is back but on the wrong position. OK, the application ran again, and the wrong position of the picture is only cosmetic but we do not have any idea why this happened.
Do you have any ideas?
thanks
Oliver

No idea why this would happen. Whenever you save the inspection, the custom UI is also saved, so maybe something happened during the save to screw up the VI, but I have never seen something like that. Try editing the Custom UI and mving the image back to where you want it and see how that works. Unfortunately I don't have good advice for how to avoid what happened since I have no idea what caused it. I would also recommend Exporting your custom UI to save it outside the inspection so you can restore your custom UI in case something happens to screw it up again.
Sorry I don't have a better answer.
