I am using a AVT Pike F145B or F210B camera. These are IEEE1394b cameras.
When I use MAX (version 4.6.2), I only get a flow rate of 100Mbps in the drop-down menu.
I already had a similar issue under Win XP sp2 and sp3 and the solution had been to change value in the register. Is it the same under win7 ?

Windows 7 has a re-written FireWire driver that natively supports 800Mbit operation out-of-the-box with no modifications. Is it possible you ran some driver tools to enable 800Mbit operation provided by the camera vendor designed for XP/Vista? Those should be unnecessary on Windows 7 and might cause problems...

Microsoft messed up 1394b in XP SP2, SP3, and Vista, and finally got it right again in Windows 7.
For XP and Vista users, AVT developed a replacement driver that overcomes the Microsoft 1394 driver problem:

For Windows7 users, 1394b cameras should operate at full S800 rates (assuming so configured in camera settings...).

In fact I have the same problem with a IEEE1394a camera : I tried an AVT Dolphin F-145B.
I also installed up-to-date version of NI VISION Acquisitio Software ... with no success ...
Any other ideas ?

I forgot to add that I tried using my cameras with AVT SmartView and it works fine : I can choose the frame rate (up to 400Mbps: I only have IEEE1394a on my computer).

How about Window 7 64bit?
I can't install the AVT program at Window 7 64bit.
Anybody know the solution for WIn7 64bit?

On Windows 7, the out-of-the-box 1394 OHCI driver shipping with Windows supports all the 1394a/b speeds correctly with no special drivers needed.
