Open Bitmap image

Hi,

Just wanted to know if anybody knows is there any NI function(from either NI Vision or NI IMAQ or from NI IMAQ for 1394) to load Bitmap image in Visual C++? I would later need to do some processing with the image.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Water,

In NI Vision, you can use the imaqReadFile() function to load a bitmap from disk.  Once it has been read in, you can use the other NI Vision functions to process the image.

Hi,

THanks for your help!

I have followed your advice. However, I have hit another problem. I have tried to read through the examples provided in the IMAQ Vision and try to run them. But they gave me the error message, "unlicensed copy of IMAQ Vision". I am not too sure whether the copy I have is a licensed version or just a preview version.

I have checked on the MAX. IMAQ Vision is there with the following information IMAQ Version 7.1.1.4004. I seem to have the box containing the software with a certificate of ownership(NI Vision Development module). I kinda take over the computer and software(so I am not sure if this is considered a purchase). Any advice on what's wrong?

If you have a certificate of ownership, it should have a license number on it.  You need to run the NI License Manager from the Windows Start button -> Programs -> Nat Inst.  You have a few options, but online is the fastest and easiest.  You tell it which program you want to activate and enter the license number.  It is fairly easy and just takes a few minutes.
